Don’t dance with a corpse.

Romans 6:1-6

 ¹What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?

 ²God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

 ³Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?

 ⁴Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

 ⁵For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:

 ⁶Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

When we become Christians, when we accept Christ we die with him. (Galatians 2:20) Our flesh is dead. And when we fall back into that dead flesh, it’s like dancing with a rotting corpse. It stinks and it makes you sick. There will be struggle, but we are not to justify or give in, Christ will let nothing tempt us that we cannot bear. If we are to truly say we have died with Christ, we cannot also say that we are in love with our pasts. 

When It’s hard remember his promises, pick up your cross and DIE DAILY.  

Matthew 11:28-30

 ²⁸Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

 ²⁹Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

 ³⁰For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

There are no excuses, God is there, he gives us a way, he gives us strength, he gives us escape unto him. 

We have no excuse for when we stumble, but when we do he is there to steady us.

However if we ignore his steadying hand, we are woeful indeed, as we lie with the dead when we could be standing tall with the living.

In Christ’s blood alone can we transcend our environment!

Jeremiah 31 (King James Version)

29In those days they shall say no more, The fathers have eaten a sour grape, and the children’s teeth are set on edge.

30But every one shall die for his own iniquity: every man that eateth the sour grape, his teeth shall be set on edge.

We no longer have the sour taste from our father’s lemon in our mouths. In Christ’s blood we transcend this! We can no longer say our sin is the sin of our father, can no longer claim to have taken on his curses and sins, when Christ has washed all our sin away. Our sin is our own, that sour taste in our mouths is derived from our own ill-advised bites of lemon. Christ’s blood has pardoned me of my father’s sin, and has delivered me from that curse, that trap, and has helped me to transcend my environment! I am free in Him, my sin is my own, and I no longer need atone for the sins of my father. GOD IS GOOD, MAN! BELIEVE IT!!

10Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

11Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

12For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
